It’s almost that time of year again…

Summer is racing by and I for one am excited about some cooler temperatures. I’m also thrilled and honored to speak at Indigenomics NOW for the third year in a row in just a few short weeks. On September 26th, I’ll gather with fellow thought-leaders, change-makers, culture-bearers, entrepreneurs, solutionaries, activists and many others for a 24-hour global Indigenous economic forum. The Global Indigenous Economic Forum is rethinking the economy through Indigenous wisdom, natural law, sustainability, and systems of value that uphold life. This year, the theme is “Life at the Centre,” and I couldn’t think of a more apt theme as we face increasing risks from climate change and other threats to diverse cultures.
I’m proud to be a part of a forum like this. One that prioritizes community across continents and countries. One that honors our ancestors and their wisdom. One that works to imagine the world not as it is but as it could be when we trust Indigenous knowledge. As always, the forum is guided by the thirteen moons, which you can learn more about below.
My session—When the Last Elder Speaks, Humanity Loses More Than a Language—ties directly into our work at DIVINA WORLD Foundation. If you didn’t get a chance to read our last newsletter, you can catch it on our blog. If you did, then you know exactly why this topic is one that speaks to my core. At DIVINA WORLD Foundation, we’re committed to protecting our ancestors’—and by extension, our own—culture.
DWF is rooted in the belief that cultural preservation is not only an act of remembrance but an act of resistance, resilience and collective power, carried forward by the generation who will inherit it.
I hope you’ll register and join us at Indigenomics NOW. Your voice lifts those around you. If you are able to join the virtual session, let me know what you thought. What new ideas did you learn? What sparked a new way of thinking for you? How can we continue to preserve and honor our culture?
And if you are able, a gift of any size supports our ongoing work to build space for Indigenous voices facing extinction. Thank you for believing in the power of protecting a multivocal world.
