After two years as the DIVINA WORLD Foundation's President, it is time to wish Ed Vargas our warmest thanks. Ed accepted my invitation to join us in our infancy in December 2023 until December 2025. We recognize that Ed wears many hats, works for many other organizations who benefit from his expertise, and has other exciting endeavors on his plate, and so it is with deep appreciation that we wish him well on his other projects. Thank you, Ed, and good luck!
Endings always bring new beginnings and we could not be happier to introduce you to our new President, Henry Lozano. Henry is extremely proud of his Apache and Mexican heritage and his history as a non-profit executive and grassroots organizer. In 2007, his years of public service culminated in his post at the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of USA Freedom Corps. As Director of USA Freedom Corps, Henry Lozano worked cooperatively to orchestrate and coordinate agencies such as the Peace Corps, Citizen Corps, AmeriCorps and Senior Corps to recruit, mobilize, and encourage all Americans to engage in public service. In 2005, Mr. Lozano was awarded the Presidential Call to Service Award in recognition of a lifetime of service.
Prior to his White House appointment, Mr. Lozano was the CEO of Californians for Drug Free Youth, Inc., a grass-roots organization he founded. From 1974 to 1985, Henry Lozano served as the director of Teen Challenge, a spiritually-based recovery program, in California, of which he is also a graduate. Throughout his career, he has championed many causes. Henry is also a published author, having recently completed his book called BORDERLANDS - One Man’s Journey From Addict to Advocate.
